Current license as an RN in the state of MD required. ADN or BSN preferred. Must have at least 2 years of experience in clinical nursing which should include 1 year of experience in dialysis.

Job Description

Healthcare provider in PG County, Maryland, seeks an experienced Director of Nursing. Interpret policies and procedures, philosophy and standards of care in the dialysis unit. Plan for overall staffing of the units, assuring coverage at all times. Formulate changes in staffing patterns and schedules as deemed appropriate. Coordinate scheduling of all hemodialysis. Organize staff conferences and periodic nursing staff meetings/in-service programs. Maintain medical, nursing and technical records on all chronic hemodialysis patients. Supervise the plans, direction, and coordination of the nursing care of all hemodialysis patients by the Charge Nurse. Ensure that the individuals assigned to the unit properly carry out the dialysis unit policies and procedures. Coordinate and collaborate with local hospitals/dialysis centers to ensure optimum patient care, second in line to the Charge Nurse. Supervise/counsel/evaluate performance of staff members in conjunction with the Administrator. Ensure appropriate orientation of new personnel to the unit. Supervise initial training of all new dialysis nurses and patient care technicians. Coordinate proper use, care, and maintenance of dialysis machines and equipment. Ensure appropriate medical and nursing care of all patients in the chronic hemodialysis program, peritoneal dialysis program, and acute dialysis if assigned program to the level of his/her competence. Recommend formalized training and/or retraining as appropriate. Actively participates in staff education. Current license as an RN in the state of MD required. ADN or BSN preferred. Must have at least 2 years of experience in clinical nursing which include 1 year of experience in dialysis. Competitive salary and benefits.
