DIRECTOR OF EMERGENCY SERVICES JOB IN TX LW1282 (Ref: LW1282)

Location: Houston area
Salary:$ 90 to $ 125 K (permanent) + Benefits and Relocation
Work Experience
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors Degree required. Masters Degree and Magnet approved certification required within 2.5 years of hire.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Six to eight years of progressively responsible experience, two of which must have involved managerial responsibility. One year in a director level role preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
Current, valid license to practice as an RN in the State of Texas. Or licensability. Specialty certification preferred. Basic CPR.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Must be able to write and speak effectively in English. Must demonstrate interpersonal skills with all levels of the healthcare team. Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Hospital Information systems and office applications.

Job Description

Director of Emergency Services is needed for new 19 bed Emergency Department. The Director is responsible for the 24 hour management of the department. This includes short and long term planning, program and staff development, resource and budget management, quality monitoring and improvement, strategic planning, and evaluation of policies and procedures to ensure quality patient care and patient satisfaction. Maintains clinical and management knowledge to advance the nursing profession and utilizes team leadership within the department to accomplish these goals. Works in cooperation with the medical staff to ensure regulations and accreditation standards are maintained. May assume temporary management responsibility for other clinical areas as needed. The Director practices patient and family centered care in concert with hospitals values of integrity, compassion, accountability, respect and excellence standards.
